Ed Bott, ZDNet, three days ago: “Coming Soon to a Mac Near You: Serious Malware”:

Now I am seeing evidence that the next target is OS X. That’s
potentially very bad news for Mac owners who have abandoned their
PCs in the belief that switching to a Mac somehow immunizes them
from malware.

Security experts know, of course, that there’s nothing
magical about Macs when it comes to security. They just
haven’t been targeted because Windows has been such a big
juicy target for so long.

But now that Macs have achieved a critical mass of success in the
marketplace, they’ve attracted the attention of malware authors.
According to a report from a Danish IT security company, an
underground group has completed work on a fully operational kit
specifically designed to build malware aimed at the Mac OS
platform.

AffidavitDonda writes with this excerpt from Torrentfreak: "A possible landmark ruling in one of the mass-BitTorrent lawsuits in the US may spell the end of the 'pay-up-or-else-schemes' that have targeted over 100,000 Internet users in the last year. District Court Judge Harold Baker has denied a copyright holder the right to subpoena the ISPs of alleged copyright infringers, because an IP-address does not equal a person. Among other things, Judge Baker cited a recent child porn case where the US authorities raided the wrong people, because the real offenders were piggybacking on their Wi-Fi connections. Using this example, the judge claims that several of the defendants in VPR's case may have nothing to do with the alleged offense either. ... Baker concludes by saying that his Court is not supporting a 'fishing expedition' for subscribers' details if there is no evidence that it has jurisdiction over the defendants."

Google has seven major product groups. Advertising, Commerce & Local, Mobile (Android), Social, Chrome, YouTube and Search. Search is, of course, Google's first and most important product. But that group actually no longer exists internally. As of April, when Larry Page took over as CEO of the company, the search group was renamed the "knowledge group" internally.

Have an old iPod Nano? Want to spruce up its interface and software a bit? You're in luck! This post is going to tell you how to really Pimp Your Pod! It's rather straightfoward, and shouldn't take more than 10-15 minutes to complete from start to finish. Please be aware that the iPodWizard portion is using software that's Windows only, so you should get that virtual machine or Boot Camp install cookin' for a little while. Read the rest of the post for more information.

Note: The iPod Nano that I used for this tutorial is the first generation 1GB iPod Nano running firmware 1.3.1 and is formatted for use on Windows machines. If your iPod is formatted for use on a Mac, then you're most likely going to run into issues with iPodWizard recognizing it. BUT, if all you'd like is Rockbox and iPodLoader, then go to step 4.
